I just every now and again buy 2 overseas mags and they were "Simple Scrapbooks" and "Memory Makers" and they are now defunct, so dissappointed just seems to be happenning everywhere, I actually thought the global economic crisis was not really effecting anything but with the news yesterday that Queensland has the highest unemployment and Scenic Route and now the two mags are closing it is really starting to hit home that things aren't as okay as I thought.

Effects are being felt (especially in the good ole US of A) that's for sure but in a way, I'm surprised it hasn't hurt the scrapping industry more... I thought it would be seen by some (namely husbands/partners) as a non-essential that could be cut from the household budget. Or perhaps people realise that 1) it's good to preserve the memories - that makes it a priceless hobby and 2) it's good for the general sanity of all us scrappin gals....

It is a shame as I really loved those two mags! great simple lovely lO's.

Times are tough at the moment - I am just hanging in there but it is tough. Urban Lily has shut its doors too.
Hopefully things will pick up soon

Yes, this is a hard time, I guess everything seems to be going up in price except incomes, I too am praying that Ames response about it being such an important hobby and the sanity part too, keeps us all involved, I cannot believe now Urban Lilly has closed their doors, I hope and pray you can hang in their too Kat, I am so hoping things get heaps better for you.

Thank you everyone. I am happy if I can at least meet my monthly obligations and still keep some new product coming in each month. But it tough on everyone and I feel for all those who have had to close their doors.
Sometimes when I am at my most stressed I think "I wish I could just close my eyes, make the wish and go back to before I started the business" as it can be very stressful but then I remember all you guys who I would never have met if I did not start this business and I know it was worth every moment! (even the few grey hairs......lol)

Kat, I know how much being a part of this site has so changed my life, I have had a pretty bad past 5 years with my marriage break up and then the loss of everything I have ever owned and you know what being able to share my layouts and get the friendships with you all it has made all the bad stuff stray to the back of my mind, this has been a major achievement for me as I have always been a major depression candidate and I wish to thank you so much Kat for having this wonderful place that I cannot imagine not having in my life.
